Itinerary
Day 01:
09.00 am: Pick up from the airport/hotel and transfer to Nanay harbor. Departure to the lodge by the mighty Amazon River. Navigating in an out board – boat, avoiding the ecological impact.
10.30 am: visit to an animal shelter, where it´s possible to see White and Black caiman’s sp. Giant lily pads. Turtles. Amazon giant fish (Paiches) and feeding piranhas fish.
12.30 pm: Arrival to the lodge in the jungle, with typical, comfortable and private rooms. (Double rooms, matrimonial and multiples rooms)
01.30 pm: Typical Lunch at the lodge.
03.00 pm: Walk through the forest near the lodge, where you will appreciate the different agricultural plantations such as bananas plantations, cornfields and others from nearby towns. Visit a town in the jungle and witness the lifestyle and culture of these populations.
07.30 pm: Dinner at the refuge.
08.30 pm: Nocturnal walk for looking for tarantulas and other insects (optional)
Day 02:
06.00 am: Sunrise in the Amazon River and excursion for bird watching.
08.30 am: Breakfast.
09.30 am: Fishing for piranhas and other species that could be found in the Amazon River or in a black water river, using artisanal materials, typical in the jungle of Loreto-Peru.
01.00 pm: Typical lunch.
02.30 pm: Navigating by the Amazon River, we will visit to a second animal-shelter, where you can find and play with different kind of monkeys, macaws, boas “anacondas”, toucans, sloths, coatis and others.
- Watching of gray color dolphins and pink river dolphins at the Amazon river and it`s possible to swim around them.
- Sunset and way back to the lodge.
07.00 pm: Dinner at the lodge. And overnight.
08.30 pm: Talk about Amazonian tales and legends.
Day 03:
08.30 am: Breakfast.
09.30 am: Full day at “Yanayacu river”.
We will navigate the mighty Amazon River against the current for about 30 min approx. Navigation by Yanayacu River (black water river), a tributary of the Amazon River.
Visit to the Primate Custody Center; better known as “the monkeys island” where we will spend some pleasant moments in their company and knowing the great work of this center.
Continuation of our adventure day along the river to find a good area where to walk and explore the primary forest to look for some species of animals in their natural habitat; such as monkeys which are typical in the area, sloths, iguanas and/or other species of animals.
- Typical lunch in the same jungle or at a house of a local settler.
Also exhibition and explanation of timber trees and medicinal plants and their application in the treatment of some diseases. Giant trees, water lianas or Tarzan vines. Survival techniques.
Return to the lodge.
05.30 pm: Arrival at the lodge and rest.
07.30 pm: Dinner and overnight.
Day 4:
08.00 am: Breakfast.
09.00 am: Departure by a peque-peque boat (typical boat) in order to visit a tribe called “Yahuas”, you will spend some hour sharing its culture about music, dance, dialect, hunting style, dressing style and part of its handicrafts (handicrafts are optional, but you can share with them some candies and biscuits, children really love them)
01.30 pm: Typical lunch.
03.00 pm: Return to Iquitos city.
05.00 pm: Arrival to the port in Iquitos.

SPECIFICATIONS OF OUR SERVICES
-Accommodation
Small and comfortable refuges located at 55 km away from Iquitos city navigating by the mighty Amazonas River. The refuges have been built in harmony with the forest, we have used local materials. It has a rustic comprising style, palm thatched, which is used in the indigenous communities in the jungle.
The refuges have private rooms with bathroom, a shared dining room. And all refuges are protected with a special mosquito net. Capacity and Equipment up to 30 passengers.
-Transfer
The travel and the excursion is by river on board, wooden boats, with low-power motors to avoid environmental impact.
-Meals
Meals are based on fish, chicken, bush meats and vegetables. Particular diets (vegetarian) must be communicated in advance.
-Guide and excursions
Guides are local people, raised in the Peruvian Rainforest, with an extensive and sensitive knowledge of the ecology and culture of the Amazon. Guides are able to explain the rainforest, showing important trees, flowers, medicinal plants and remedies, and help to identify species of birds, mammals, reptiles, butterflies and other insects.

Located in an important place in the center of the Amazonian forest of Peru in the region of Loreto. At an edge of the Amazonas river.

Tips:
- Clothes must be light colors and not tight to the body.
- Travel with small backpacks or bags for easier transportation and to avoid handling by third parties.
- You could get and bring candies, clothes, notebooks, and any other items you wish to gift to the children of indigenous communities.
Vaccines and other precautions:
Peru does not require travelers to receive vaccinations before visiting the Amazon rainforest. However, we recommend vaccines/pills for yellow fever, malaria, hepatitis A and B, and typhoid fever. These should be administered at least 10 days before your trip.
